My Life Turned Up Side Down

I took out a loan with a particular loan company and at the time I really didn't need the money I just "wanted" to buy certain things. So because someone else I knew had dealings with the company, I decided to get involved.

So I called the company and of course asked questions like how high is the interest rate and my loan officer lied and told me their was no interest rate.

Discovering The Interest Rate

I thought that I was actually getting the best deal of my life until I found out that their was a 96% to 98% percent interest rate for the loan that I had already excepted.

I had the loan for about four to five months, before finding out about the interest rate. In fact I ended up finding out about the interest rate because I went to Google and typed in scams and the company's name.

So many articles popped up, it was ridiculous. I payed about $800 dollars for a lap top out of the loan money that I had received and by grace my lap top had allowed me to discover that my loan officer scammed me.

I'll never trust anyone again. I was a fool to think that I could trust a company just because they had a celebrity advertising for them.

Immediately I called my friend whom also had dealings with the company and she also was devastated. At the time my friend and I were only about eight-teen or nine-teen years old and we didn't have the greatest jobs in the world.

We both made about eight or nine dollars an hour from work, which at the time just wasn't enough to get this loan payed off. The minimum payment for the loan at the time was about $216 dollars.

All that time I was making my monthly payments of $216 dollars a month, only to discover that $9 dollars was going towards the loan, while the rest had been guzzled up from the interest rate.

Depression

With only $9 dollars going towards the loan from my monthly payments, and also that $6 to $9 dollar fee that occurred every day, I saw nothing in my future.

At the age of only nine-teen I felt as if I had nothing to live for. Tried getting a second job, but no one was hiring and on top of that, gas was too expensive.

I had to pay rent, my car payment and a loan that wasn't worth paying for. Words couldn't describe the way I felt. The loan officer that had assisted me never called me back when I left him messages, and I just never could get in contact with him. With hardly no money, I knew I had to do something soon and quick. So I took action.
